Southampton In Song

Brian is the long-standing resident MC of the Fo'c'sle folk club in Southampton. He has been on the folk scene in Southampton and surrounding areas for more years than he can, or may care to, remember!

The original idea for a CD specifically featuring songs about Southampton came from Brian, who thought that if New York and Chicago warranted songs about them, then so did his home town as well.

Such songs did already exist - there had been several local songwriters who had chosed the city as subject matter, and further delving uncovered more. Not content with their findings, Brian and Jeff decided it was then their turn to apply their song-writing talents to this musical legacy. The CD Southampton in Song is the result, and has proved a resounding success, as have their live concert renditions of the songs.

Jeff has been peforming a wide range of songs around the folk clubs of Southampton since the early 70's, either singing acapella, or accompanying himself on guitar.
