Here In Southampton
We bring our songs about Southampton up to the 21st century with our own composition, and set to Ralph Vaughan Williams' tune 'To Be A Pilgrim', which we feel appropriate as it was from Southampton that the Pilgrim Fathers set sail in 1620.

Today Southampton is a forward-looking city, with outdated warehousing and housing being replaced by modern apartments and commercial complexes. The West Quay Shopping Centre is the latest addition to the skyline, closely following the St Mary's Stadium, and there is more to come. An extensive heritage centre is promised, where perhaps the history of the city can be more readily celebrated by Sotonians and visitors alike.

For while Southampton has a formidable history dating back to the Roman settlement of Clausentum, it also looks forward to an exciting future - as our song says: HERE'S TO SOUTHAMPTON.
